Based out of Abu Dhabi, Shield AI’s International Team handles all strategy and business development activity in the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. The team collaborates with U.S.-based departments and international partners to build Shield AI’s global presence, source opportunities, win deals, and execute international programs.
This role is based in Canberra, Australia. You will create and execute strategies to close deals to meet specific annual sales quotas primarily focused on the Hivemind business. Your responsibilities include setting up deals for successful execution to achieve revenue targets and supporting your team members in meeting regional goals under the guidance of the Senior Director.
As a key leader in our Business Development team, you will position Shield AI as a leader in AI-driven autonomy solutions for various applications, collaborating with technical experts, and delivering impactful AI solutions.
What you'll do:
* Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Hivemind Enterprise, focusing on enterprise SaaS sales and industry leadership.
* Drive revenue through new customer acquisition, account expansion, and strategic partnerships.
* Lead high-impact sales pursuits, differentiating Shield AI’s offerings in complex procurement environments.
* Collaborate with product management, engineering, and operations to deliver tailored AI solutions.
* Gather market insights and customer feedback to inform product development.
* Advise executive stakeholders on the impact of AI-driven autonomy.
* Coordinate marketing and government relations opportunities.
* Build industry partnerships and lead product demonstrations.
* Lead proposal responses and work with Melbourne-based teams.
Minimum qualifications:
* Passion for building a leading defense technology company.
* 15+ years of progressive experience in related fields.
* Experience in international strategy and business development.
* Knowledge of defense, aerospace, or autonomy sectors, including AI and UAS.
* Strong strategic, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of exceeding objectives.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
* Charismatic leadership capable of motivating teams and inspiring excitement about Shield AI’s mission.
* Ability to engage with senior executives and stakeholders across sectors.
* Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.
* Willing to relocate to Canberra, Australia for 3+ years.
* Understanding of Australian Defense Force operations and acquisition processes.
Preferred qualifications:
* Australian Security Clearance.
* Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or related Master’s degree.
* Operational senior leadership experience within the Australian Defence Force.
* Experience with UAVs and autonomous systems.
* Proven leadership of cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in sales methodologies like MEDDIC, Challenger, or Solution Selling.
* Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
