O'Loughlins Lawyers is a well-established, Adelaide-based law firm that is currently seeking a talented and experienced litigation lawyer to work across both our estates team, and our health, aged care and retirement living team.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the estate litigation practice and work alongside our firm's talented lawyers, with a ready and enviable client base, including many of South Australia's prominent not for profit organisations. You may also be involved in complex and diverse litigation acting for statutory authorities.
With increasing complexity in the regulation of aged and disability care and retirement living, the shift of members of the Baby Boomer generation into seniors living arrangements, and the increasing disputes within families arising from the transfer of wealth from that generation when they die, these areas of practice are growing in general, and for our firm in particular.
Both our estates and health, aged care and retirement living teams have been consistently recognised in recent years as the best in South Australia.
To be successful in this role, the applicant will ideally:
• be admitted to practise law in South Australia;
• have at least 8-10 years post admission experience in litigation, and be expected to be able to conduct matters in the Supreme Court and SACAT;
• have strong written, advocacy and negotiation skills;
• have the intellect and creativity to find solutions to difficult and novel problems, the emotional intellect to be able to resolve disputes with a blend of commerciality and compassion, and the agility to deal with a wide range of disputes;
• have an ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team, and to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary matters with our firm's commercial, commercial litigation, and employment lawyers;
• be able to demonstrate commercial acumen;
• be confident in marketing both individual expertise and broader practice group capabilities to existing and prospective clients;
• be able to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a focus on identifying opportunities for growth and collaboration; and
• be committed to ongoing learning and development.

This role is offered as a full-time role, however there is scope for flexibility if required.
