Coastwide Civil is a family-owned and operated Australian Company located on the South Coast Region of NSW with a diverse range of Civil & Marine Construction, Bulk and Detailed Earthworks, Road and Bridge Construction, Quarry and Mining, Plant Hire, extensive Transport capabilities, and much more. Established over 50 years ago, the business has grown progressively to become one of New South Wales leading specialist Civil and Marine Construction Contractors, taking on projects from around Australia and abroad.

The Company is seeking a driven, motivated, and knowledgeable Senior Civil Engineer to join our team and share their skills, knowledge, and expertise on a number of projects.

As the Senior Civil Engineer, you will employ your unique set of skills and experiences to manage your projects and tasks with a high level of autonomy. We are seeking an applicant with excellent interpersonal skills to continue to grow both our new and existing client base and work closely with our team of Site Engineers and Site Supervisors. Remuneration will be commensurate to candidate experience and qualifications.

The role will be primarily based at our head office facility in Albion Park NSW, with site-based requirement as and when required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

* Demonstrate a high level of civil engineering and management experience in the Civil and Building Construction Sector.

* Managing of client and supplier relations to achieve positive financial and contractual outcomes.

* Develop and communicate methodologies and strategies to the construction team including programme, cost, and quality.

* Review tender and subcontract documents, evaluate potential costs and assess the risks associated to the project, including contractual agreements, progress claims, variations, and dispute management.

* Successful handover of projects on time and under budget.

* Management of project documentation, including quality and subsequent provision of reports to clients during and at completion of projects.

* Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are executed in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.

* Manage the preparation of site construction budgets and progress reports.

* Monitor construction progress, both internally and that of external subcontractors for adherence to programme and budget requirements.

* Management of construction activities to ensure that design execution is completed to the required standard and on time to maintain programme.

* Manage, monitor, and control the flow of technical information between the design disciplines and internal and external stakeholders.

* Identify issues with the project, drive the development and implementation of solutions within the Project Team.

* Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards, drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures in conjunction with the Project Team.

* Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs with Clients.

* Reviewing subcontractor outputs for compliance with design briefs and technical specifications.

To be successful in the role you will have:

* Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Civil Project Management

* Strong knowledge of constructability and processes, including quality.

* Strong communication, coordination, and leadership management skills, both verbal and written, to supervise the Project Team

* Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

* High level understanding of technical and commercial requirements in construction including codes and standards.

* Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

* Advanced computer literacy skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, MS Outlook, and other programs relevant to this position.

* A strong ability to identify and manage risk and resolve problems at a project and commercial level.
