What We Expect of You
* Prior experience leading Engineering or Maintenance teams in a premium or luxury hotel environment, ideally within an international hotel group.
* Deep knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and energy management. You're fluent in preventative maintenance, compliance, and asset protection.
* You're comfortable managing large operating budgets, capital projects, and aligning engineering strategy with broader business goals.
* You're known for building high-performing teams through inspiring coaching, clear direction, and a strong focus on talent development.
* You navigate change with integrity, resolve conflicts effectively, and make innovative, results-driven decisions.

A Glance at What You Will Do
* As Director of Engineering, you'll partner with your Assistant Director of Engineering to lead all things technical, operational, and strategic to ensure W Melbourne is always running at best performance. You'll be responsible for:
* Supervise and lead daily operations, new projects, renovations, and refurbishments to ensure quality execution on time and within budget.
* Oversee departmental budgeting, payroll, capital planning, and cost control across utilities, service contracts, and maintenance operations.
* Manage the hotel's physical plant including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems, ensuring full compliance with all local regulations and brand standards.
* Partner with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and support the success of events, operations, and brand activations.
* Carry out any other duty/function that the Hotel Manager or General Manager may assign. Provide ongoing support to the Hotel Manager or General Manager.
