The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Prefab Estimator / Detailer to join our design and estimating team.
This role is critical in ensuring accurate detailing, quoting, and design coordination for trusses, frames and other timber prefabrication components.
You will work closely with builders, architects, designers and engineers, contributing to high-quality project outcomes and supporting our fast-paced manufacturing operations.
This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday–Friday (40 hours), with overtime available in line with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates, designs and detailed documentation for prefabricated timber systems
Interpret and work from plans, drawings and building design systems
Liaise confidently with builders, architects, designers and engineers to clarify design requirements
Work collaboratively within a dynamic design and production team
Maintain strong workflow discipline, managing competing priorities and deadlines
Contribute to a safe working environment by following WHS requirements and promoting safe practices
Support continuous improvement across design accuracy, production flow and customer outcomes
About You
You will bring a strong technical mindset and enjoy operating at the intersection of design, manufacturing and customer service.
You will ideally have:
Experience in design and estimating within construction, prefab or timber manufacturing
Understanding of timber design principles
Ability to interpret construction plans and technical drawings
Basic CAD knowledge (advantageous)
Experience with Pryda software (highly regarded; training available)
Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders
High attention to detail, excellent time management and strong organisational capability
A proactive, positive approach and commitment to team-based delivery
Understanding of safe work practices within a manufacturing environment
