Job Title: Family Support Coordinator
Overview: The Family Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering connections between families, early-childhood providers, and educational institutions.
The Family Support Coordinator is responsible for promoting student engagement and well-being by strengthening relationships between families and the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain trusting relationships with families to enhance student attendance and overall well-being.
* Collaborate with Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services, Kindergartens, and Early Years Networks to identify potential students prior to enrollment and ensure smooth transitions into Prep.
* Work collaboratively with First Nations Elders, community leaders, and Indigenous organizations to provide culturally grounded support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
* Engage with local community groups, family hubs, and service providers to reduce barriers to learning and access essential supports.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of Kindergarten-Year 2 transitions and experience partnering with ECECs.
* Proven ability to build culturally safe relationships with families to strengthen engagement and well-being.
* Experience working respectfully with First Nations families, including consultation with Elders and Indigenous leaders.
* Cultural responsiveness across diverse communities.
