An exciting opportunity is available for a temporary Principal Facilities Services Officer to join our Disaster, Emergency and School Security team, Infrastructure Services Division, to support high level analysis, design, review and implementation of a suite of related systems, policies and project documentation.

About the Opportunity:
This is your opportunity to provide high level advice to the Manager, School Security, Senior Management, Regional Directors and School Principals on a broad range of issues pertaining to the management of school security infrastructure and incidents impacting schools in Queensland.
About the Role:
The Principal Facilities Services Officer will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:
* Lead the review and update of School security related documentation and the implementation of a cyclical review programme.
* Contribute to the review and standardisation of documentation across the Disaster, Emergency and School Security portfolios
* Align guidelines for managing School security related incidents (lockdown, active assailant situations, etc) with industry best practice
* Lead communication/marketing plans for security initiatives, publications and other updates.
* Provide advice on the implementation of the DoE approach to protective security in accordance with the Queensland Protective Security Framework
* Work closely with school security advisors, project delivery leads and security technology advisor on security projects.
* Responsible for Projects and Programs that requires extensive stakeholder engagement - development and implementation of major change frameworks/procedures for the Department
What you need to succeed:
Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following attributes:
* Ability in leading and participating in teams involved in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for security, infrastructure and planning related services.
* Ability to provide high level advice to management and senior executive, Regional Directors and Principals on a broad range of issues.
* Experience participating in project teams on the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures supporting high level strategic initiatives for security, infrastructure and planning related issues.
* Ability to establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor issues and changes, and to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes for a range for security, infrastructure and planning related services.
* High level experience preparing responses, reports and briefing materials on a range for security, infrastructure and planning related issues.
* Proven experience contributing to the development of team members by providing guidance and support, mentoring and on the job training.
* Demonstrated ability to regularly liaise with stakeholder groups to ensure services managed by the unit meet their needs.
