International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator
Reports to: Building PrincipalContract: Licensed - 197FSLA Status: Exempt
Position Purpose
Facilitate all aspects of implementation and growth of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) while maintaining communication between the school and the IB Organization. Provide student support, teacher support, is an active member of the leadership team, coordinate school authorization and evaluation, oversee MYP teacher training and regularly review program needs and progress.
Essential Functions
* Ensure the concepts of international awareness and international mindedness permeate all subjects.
* Lead recruitment efforts of students and parents on the merits of the IB program.
* Monitor curriculum to ensure that the program is in compliance with IB standards.
* Facilitate the implementation of the Exhibition, including gathering mentors and needed resources.
* Schedule and coordinate appropriate IB events. Assist in coordinating facilities and logistics for the Community Project.
* Assist teachers in the development and execution of the units of inquiry (IB curriculum).
* Oversee the implementation of unit plans and the IB Learner Profile according to IB guidelines.
* Promote the IB Programme and serve as a liaison to district stakeholders.
* Support the implementation, monitoring and/or evaluation of assigned programs for middle school education, curriculum, and/or instructional support, and ensure that assigned programs are efficiently and effectively administered.
* Support and participate in meeting the objectives of the school site improvement plans.
* Provide ongoing required IB professional development for new school hires, returning staff, and administration.
* Monitor training of personnel to ensure that the program meets IB standards.
* Ensure payment of required fees in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with administration on allocating the IB budget.
* Meet regularly with the District IB Coordinator.
* Coordinate departmental activities with other district offices and administrators and provide assistance to requesting departments.
* Follow district and department policies and procedures.
* Support the administration of state‐mandated testing at schools in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
* Monitor and review student, teacher, and school data. Use findings to assist with planning targeted support for needed areas.
* Foster positive morale by participating in team building activities and the decision making process.
* Communicate and collaborate with school staff to enhance service delivery, program development, and stakeholder satisfaction.
* Participate in professional development that increases effectiveness and improves District performance.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Principal and other Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

* Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
* Knowledge of middle school and high school curriculum and concepts.
* Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
* Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
* Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
* Ability to organize and coordinate work.
* Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
* Ability to engage in self‐evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.
Certification/License
* Arkansas State Certification as a Teacher
* Arkansas State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
Education
* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
* Educational License
* Masters Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level.
