Overview
Lab Technician role at Fulton Hogan. Based at the Eastern Creek site. Open to entry level or experienced candidates seeking the next step in their career.
Responsibilities
Sampling and testing asphalt, aggregates and bitumen, including onsite sampling and compaction monitoring.
Hands-on day-to-day management of sampling and testing in accordance with specified requirements.
Handling and management of chemicals in line with relevant standards.
Management of reporting, record keeping and calibrations including reporting non-conforming product.
Conduct procedures safely and maintain positive housekeeping of the laboratory and surrounds.
Provide technical support to production departments.
Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
Travel will be required based on business needs.
Dayshift, nightshift and some weekend work will be required.
Qualifications
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Skilled communication, written and interpersonal skills.
Honest, confident and reliable.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect for others and to work as part of an efficient team.
Current and valid Driver's Licence.
Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (advantageous).
Previous experience in heavy industries or an interest in this field (advantageous).
Willingness to travel as away work will be required.
Understanding of asphalt, cement or quarries industries is advantageous.
Knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
