About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Placement Officer to join our Student Support team.
In this role, you'll support students completing the CHC Qualifications, helping them secure and complete their vocational placements successfully.
You'll work closely with trainers, students, and industry providers to build strong community and industry partnerships. This role combines student engagement, relationship management, and business development, perfect for someone who loves connecting people and creating opportunities that make a real difference in community care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Engagement & Placement Coordination
* Guide students through the placement referral process, ensuring readiness and compliance with industry requirements.
* Receive and review student placement referral forms via the online portal.
* Match students to suitable host providers based on location, interests, and placement requirements.
* Maintain regular communication with students to support their placement journey from referral to completion.
* Liaise with trainers to ensure accurate records, updates, and communication are maintained.
2. Industry & Community Engagement
* Build and maintain strong relationships with aged care and disability service providers across Queensland.
* Identify and develop new placement opportunities.
* Represent Skills Generation at industry networking events, expos, and community engagement initiatives.
* Collaborate with providers to ensure quality placement experiences that align with training outcomes and compliance requirements.
3. Compliance & Administration
* Ensure all placement documentation and communications are recorded in aXcelerate for audit and compliance purposes.
* Monitor and report on placement outcomes, student progress, and provider engagement.
* Support the continuous improvement of placement processes and student referral systems.

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, you're confident engaging with students, trainers, and community organisations.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Ability to manage multiple placement cases and prioritise tasks efficiently.
* Comfortable using digital platforms (aXcelerate, online forms, Google suite, CRM systems).
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Experience in education, training, workforce development, or community services coordination.
* Understanding of the aged care and disability sectors (NDIS, community care, residential services).
* Demonstrated experience in client engagement or business development.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of vocational education and training (VET) and placement coordination processes.
* Familiarity with compliance and audit standards within the training or community services sector.
