About this Position
The Leisure Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of Council's leisure, recreation and aquatic facilities, including GSAC and Lismore Memorial Baths. The role ensures facilities are safe, financially sustainable and welcoming, while delivering high‐quality programs and services that support community health, participation and wellbeing.
This position provides strong leadership across multiple sites, balancing commercial performance, compliance and customer experience, while aligning service delivery with Council's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, operation and continuous improvement of Council's leisure and aquatic facilities.
* Manage facility performance, budgets, KPIs, utilisation and financial sustainability.
* Provide strong leadership to a diverse workforce, including recruitment, rostering, training and performance management.
* Ensure compliance with WHS, public safety, emergency management and legislative requirements in a high‐risk operational environment.
* Deliver high‐quality customer experiences and respond effectively to feedback and complaints.
* Develop and deliver programs, events and initiatives that increase participation and community wellbeing.
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, sporting clubs, health providers and community organisations.
* Identify opportunities for revenue growth, grants, sponsorships and service innovation.
* Maintain effective risk management systems and lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Recreation Management, Sport and Leisure, Business or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience managing or supervising leisure, recreation or aquatic facilities, ideally in commercial environments.
* Demonstrated leadership capability, including leading behavioural change, developing teams and driving accountability.
* Strong business planning, financial management, reporting and administrative skills.
* High‐level customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to manage sensitive and complex issues.
* Sound knowledge of WHS, emergency management and public safety requirements.
* High personal integrity, emotional intelligence and resilience in fast‐paced and ambiguous environments.
* Senior First Aid (or ability to obtain).
Contract & Compensation
Full Time Contract: 76 hours per fortnight
Salary: A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant commensurate with their relevant skills and experience.
