Responsibilities and capabilities
· Dealing with customers over phone, by email, or face to face
· Running and analysing diagnostic test results and identifying faults
· Responsible for replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanism, transmission, wheel alignment, air-conditioning, and braking systems etc.
· Test drive to identify and analyse faults and vehicle performance
· Performing regular and preventative maintenance as per vehicle service manuals
· Prepare and maintain detailed vehicle service records
· Maintain and keep workshop in clean and tidy condition
· Work in conjunction with the Car Hire Operation team to ensure vehicles are available to meet customer bookings
· Maintaining and ordering inventory of spare parts for vehicles
Requirements
· Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
· Automotive Services Excellence Motor Certification will be advantageous
· Must be proficient in spoken as well as written English, IELTS band 7 or more would be preferable
· Must have excellent computer skills including using MS Office suite
· years working experience as head Motor mechanic in a medium or large organisation
· Must have advanced knowledge of petrol/Motor engine components and have aptitude for mathematics and science and willingness to engage in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills
· Must be able to inspect mechanical and electronic components, diagnose issues, and discuss possible resolutions and cost estimates with clients or Director, if required
· Inspecting internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulations
· Must be able to work in team as well as independently and must possess excellent organisation skills, time management skills, strong problem-solving skills, excellent analytical abilities, and attention to details
· Must be capable to prioritise and delegate tasks
