Remuneration Package: $96,024 – $120,911 based on skills and experience.
Duties that are required:
* Identify local needs and priorities in relation to AOD prevention in collaboration with the BTA AOD team and other agencies.
* Proactive collaboration with other agencies, professionals, and community groups, to develop, implement and report on strategies, activities, and events to support community action to reduce and prevent AOD related harms in the Hedland area and nearby communities as required.
* Represent BTA and the PCADS-AOD team at forums/meetings as required.
* Work with stakeholders and play an active role in reviewing and implementing the PHAODMP (Port Hedland Alcohol and Other Drug Management Plan) and associated Volatile Substance Use plan.
* Deliver responsive prevention services to local communities, in partnership with stakeholders. Contribute to the planning of regional AOD prevention and intervention programs
Qualifications and skills required:
* Knowledge, skills, qualifications and /or experience in health promotion and/or health education or related community and services work involving other relevant skills and knowledge.
* Independent ability to plan activities and events and execute in a collaborative way with other stakeholder.
* Good understanding or ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local agencies and organisations involved in health services delivery and other social services.
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders and an understanding of Aboriginal culture and heritage.
* Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with community members, the AOD team, PCADS AOD Prevention Officer and a range of health professionals and other agency staff.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communications skills, with the capacity to listen well.
* Current knowledge of and commitment to Equal Opportunity in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
* Good written communication skills and the ability to write for different audiences and purposes.
* Professional flexibility and willingness to quickly adapt as required to respond to local needs and shifting priorities or of BWT when required.
* Willingness and ability to obtain a Police Certificate, Working with Children's Check, and a First Aid Certificate.
