About the Role: As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leading the nursing team and overseeing daily unit operations. Your responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of compassionate, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with health standards and promoting a supportive environment for staff development. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support the nursing/midwifery team to ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained. Promote continuity and consistency of care by collaborating with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager. Assist in implementing practice changes to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes. Support in managing ward/unit/service operations, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, and attendance management. Assist in financial and supplies planning, as well as monitoring expenditures and resource usage. Mentor and develop less experienced staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure their continuous professional growth. Maintain accurate records, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures to uphold clinical standards and regulatory compliance. What We’re Looking For: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife. Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
