Synergie is seeking an Oxy Cutter / General Labourer for a leading Metal Recycling operation in Townsville.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands‑on role where you can make a real impact in a safety-focused environment. Work Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm, enjoy a competitive casual pay rate of $40.25 + penalties, and be part of a team that values reliability, skill, and dedication.
What you will be required to do: Reporting to the Yard Manager, your key responsibilities include:
* Downsizing and cutting scrap metal using an oxy cutter
* Conducting pre-starts on oxy cutting equipment
* Sorting, processing, and clearing scrap metal
* Ensuring the yard and work area are safe and clear
* Carrying out general yard duties and reporting any risks or hazards to the Yard Manager
To be successful in the role you will:
* Have previous experience in metal recycling or a similar environment (preferred)
* Be physically fit and able to do manual labour
* Be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
* Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a "Safety First" attitude
* Have excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
* Hold a valid driver's license and have your own transport
* Have full working rights in Australia
