High-Impact Leadership Role | Utilities Sector | $255k Total Package

Are you a strategic leader in program management or infrastructure seeking a career-defining move to Australia's capital? This is a rare opportunity to lead a critical function for a major utility provider during a period of significant network evolution.

While this role is being advertised in Brisbane, please note it is a permanent, full-time position based in Canberra, ACT. A full relocation will be required for the successful candidate to join our high-performing team on the ground.

The Opportunity

As the Manager Works Planning and Coordination, you will lead the end-to-end pipeline of works for the region's energy network. You will be responsible for transforming a complex Portfolio Investment Plan (PIP) into a balanced, achievable, and seasonalised delivery schedule. Reporting to the Group Manager, you will oversee functions spanning integrated planning, work preparation, and scheduling, ensuring that everything from customer-initiated projects to critical network maintenance is delivered with maximum efficiency.

What you'll be doing

* Pipeline Management: Lead the monthly development and optimization of the 2-year Integrated Works Plan (IWP).
* Strategic Resource Balancing: Assess internal and external labor capacity (supply vs. demand) to maximize productivity and minimize job cancellations.
* Operational Excellence: Bundle and seasonalise works to minimize community impacts while optimizing field resource utilisation.
* Stakeholder Influence: Negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders to agree on program priorities and management processes.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a dedicated team within the Works Planning and Coordination section, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.

What we're looking for

* Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in program and resource planning within electricity distribution or a similarly complex, industrially-regulated industry.
* Program Scale: Proven track record managing $50m+ capital and operational programs of work.
* Strategic & Tactical Thinking: The ability to develop long-term strategic plans while maintaining a firm grip on daily operational risks.
* Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading teams through complex change and motivating others to deliver high-quality outcomes.
* Technical Acumen: High-level financial acumen and the ability to utilise asset management systems to drive data-led decision-making.

Salary & Benefits

* Package: A competitive total package of $255,000 (Base + Super).
* Culture: Join an organization that prioritises safety, values flexible and supportive behaviours, and makes time to celebrate success.
* Lifestyle: Relocate to Canberra, a city offering a perfect blend of urban sophistication and outdoor lifestyle, ideal for families and professionals alike.
