Primary objective
Provide agency wide finance services to achieve integrity of financial data and compliance with financial policies. This
includes financial reconciliations, analysis, reporting and advice, and the implementation of the agency's financial and
accounting policies.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
2. Perform financial tasks related to Motor Vehicle Registry transactions.
3. Undertake end of month and end of year finance processes including preparing and posting journals.
4. Manage the agency's corporate credit cards including the administrator role of the system and verification tasks.
5. Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions by liaising with relevant teams, verifying
transactions, ensuring timely invoice payments and raising agency invoices.
6. Support the agency with travel management and payment card industry (PCI) compliance.
7. Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in financial administration, particularly in reconciliations, credit card management, AP and AR
or similar functions.
2. Demonstrated competent written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, exercise initiative,
discretion and maintain confidentiality.
3. Sound competency in the use of financial systems, spreadsheets, report generation techniques and methods of analysis.
4. Proven ability to work independently, and as a member of a team, and establish and maintaingood working networks
across the agency and with suppliers, clients, and other government departments in relation to financial matters.
5. Sound ability to meet deadlines in a demanding and changing environment with competing priorities whilst maintaining
high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of government financial policies and systems.
2. Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
