Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Research Fellow to join our team in advancing deep Earth and planetary core science. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation seismic imaging projects and explore the Earth's core, its interactions with upper layers, and extend insights to the Moon, Mars, and icy moons.
This 5-year funding position offers a chance to lead high-impact publications, mentor PhD students, and build an independent research profile in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in seismology, geophysics, computer/data science, or planetary science, with expertise in global seismology, particularly relating to the Earth's core, core-mantle boundary, or mantle structure.
A track record of high-quality publications, conference presentations, and experience with machine learning, array seismology, or planetary mission data analysis are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct research on deep Earth and planetary core science using next-generation seismic imaging techniques.
* Collaborate with Professor Hrvoje Tkalcic's Global & Planetary Seismology Group to advance knowledge of the Earth's core and its interactions with upper layers.
* Develop and lead high-impact publications, including papers and conference presentations.
* Mentor PhD students and contribute to the development of their research skills.
* Build an independent research profile and contribute to the growth of the group.
Requirements:
* PhD in seismology, geophysics, computer/data science, or planetary science.
* Expertise in global seismology, particularly relating to the Earth's core, core-mantle boundary, or mantle structure.
