About the role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for an AML/CTF Risk Manager to join our Finance team.
The Finance Team provides financial and management accounting, trust accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, commercial analysis, AML/CTF compliance and banking and practice support functions across the Firm.
The AML/CTF Risk Manager role will support the AML/CTF Compliance Officer in the establishment, implementation and ongoing operation of the firm's AML/CTF compliance program, including implementing an AML workflow solution and building a small team to manage that solution.
You will be responsible for:
* driving the establishment and implementation of the firm's AML/CTF compliance program, ensuring it meets regulatory requirements and industry best practice;
* providing input to the design, development and implementation of policies, systems, procedures and controls for compliance with AML/CTF for client and matter onboarding, including client and matter due diligence, AML/CTF risk assessments and suspicious matter reporting;
* being a 'go to' person for all things related to client and matter initial and ongoing due diligence and ML/TF risk assessment;
* preparing reports to AUSTRAC and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of AML activities;
* assisting with firm-wide training and guidance on AML/CTF and compliance matters to promote a culture of compliance;
* staying up-to-date with AML legislation, guidance and practice and helping to keep the firm's policies and procedures compliant; and
* monitoring and reporting to the AML/CTF Compliance Officer on the effectiveness of the AML/CTF compliance program and making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
* relevant tertiary qualification. AML certifications will be regarded favourably;
* experience in AML compliance or comparable financial regulatory compliance;
* experience with onboarding and/or compliance risk platforms;
* a good working knowledge of AML legislation and concepts;
* strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
* excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
* high attention to detail.
