Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and over 400 staff across campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Keilor East, sports grounds at Keilor Park and an Outdoor Education camp at Eildon. The Role
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and caring Learning Assistant to join our Junior School Boys (Prep‐6) campus. This is a part‐time (0.8), fixed‐term replacement position from 3 August 2026 to 12 July 2027. Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.00 am to 4.06 pm.
As a Learning Assistant, under the guidance and supervision of the Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting teachers in the preparation of program activities, including preparation and organisation of classroom resources, materials and equipment
* Monitoring student well‐being and reporting any matters of concern
* Supporting student learning in a broad range of activities
* Undertaking supervision duties outside of classroom activities, including playground, excursions, sports activities as required
* Assisting the teacher in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for the students
* Supporting students with additional needs (e.g., anaphylaxis, allergies, physical, or learning disabilities) and assisting students with additional needs in participating in school programs
* Attending and supporting a range of school events and activities as required
Qualifications and experience: you will be suitably experienced and qualified (e.g., Certificate III or higher) and possess excellent communication skills. The School is committed to child safety; applicants must be willing to provide a valid Working With Children Check and be eligible to work in Australia.
