Key Research Position
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking a highly experienced Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist to lead our fauna conservation and multispecies restoration research efforts.
Job Overview
* Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of research on fauna reconstruction for the Dirk Hartog Island National Park Ecological Restoration Project.
* Develop and manage complex data collection, analysis and publication strategies.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement and manage research projects focused on fauna conservation and restoration.
* Collaborate with researchers, project staff and external stakeholders to achieve conservation outcomes.
* Prepare high-quality research findings for publication and reporting purposes.
* Provide expert advice on research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
* Substantial experience in leading fauna conservation and multispecies restoration research projects.
* Proven ability to design and implement complex research projects under limited supervision.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Demonstrated expertise in publishing research findings in high-impact journals.
* Ability to work effectively in remote areas with minimal supervision.
