About the Role
As a Field Service Representative, you’ll ensure Hanwha and Commonwealth-owned Mission Systems maintain high vehicle availability for daily Defence operations. You’ll deliver expert maintenance, repairs, and technical support for the L400 Redback and L8116 Huntsman fleet of vehicles—both in the workshop and out in the field. Reporting to the FSR Supervisor, you’ll act as a Subject Matter Expert on Hanwha designed equipment, support training activities, and provide real-time solutions to Army and contracted maintainers.
This role includes local, interstate, and international travel, plus fieldwork in all seasons—ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and meaningful work.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Conduct of repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and product quality investigations
• Assist with training delivery, including Introduction into Service (IIS) and sustainment courses
• Act as one of the primary points of contact for maintenance related technical issues
• Conduct engineering and technical tasks, including maintenance engineering analysis
* Contribute to the development of technical documentation
* Review designs and support logistics analysis activities
• Provide on the job training to Army and contracted maintainers
• Ensure compliance with HSE and Security requirements across all sites
• Supporting other specialised trades in the conduct of their work
• Work flexibly, including out of hours and weekend support when required
• Strong communication, customer service, and people skills are essential. You’ll be working closely with Defence personnel, engineers, and maintainers—your ability to collaborate, influence, and resolve issues professionally will set you apart.
What You’ll Bring
Mandatory
* Relevant technical trade qualification in Electronics and Communications, Automotive Electrical Technology or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical (or equivalent discipline)
* Australian Citizenship and eligibility for NV1 security clearance
* Ability to travel and work flexibly, with occasional weekend work or travel required
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Desirable
* HR licence, LF forklift licence, armoured vehicle driving qualification
* Experience in Army/ADF vehicle maintenance or Defence platforms
