Salary: Level 6, $120,457 - $132,753 pa + Super - PSCSAA 2024

Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Permanent - Full Time

The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, community initiatives and regional services reform.

Strategy and Partnerships undertakes strategic policy, partnerships and sector stewardship functions. Strategy and Partnerships is responsible for critical strategic policy projects across the Ministerial portfolio areas of child protection, prevention of family and domestic violence, women's interests, seniors and ageing, elder abuse, volunteering, youth, and carers and grand carers.

As a Senior Policy Officer (Strategy & Partnerships), you will contribute to high‑impact, evidence‑based strategies across priority social portfolios, working at the intersection of policy, research and collaboration.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will:

* Maintain contemporary knowledge of the development and delivery of best practice strategies, policy and legislative change in the areas of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, homelessness, seniors and ageing, volunteering, youth, community services (including Carers) or community and regional initiatives,
* Undertake complex research, analysis, reviews and evaluation of policy,
* Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, strategies and frameworks,
* Assist in the management and coordination of strategic projects to ensure outcomes are consistent with Department and government priorities and directions,
* Provide strategic advice and input into policies and strategies to ensure they are aligned with Department's priorities and directions.
