Senior Laravel PHP Developer

We are a growing genetic testing company based in Melbourne, Australia, looking for a Senior Developer to join our growing team of nearly 20 people. Reporting directly to our Head of Engineering, you'll join our cross-functional product development team, responsible for updating our in-house patient management product, improving our user-facing portal, and integrating with partner platforms such as Shopify, Zendesk, Acuity Scheduling, GSuite, and StarShipIt.

Important note : while the position is remote you must be based somewhere within Australia
Responsibilities
1. Developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining our in-house patient management system, ensuring the highest standards of quality, performance, and security are maintained
2. Integrating with partner platforms such as Shopify, Hubspot, Zendesk, Acuity Scheduling, GSuite, and StarShipIt
3. Establishing technology based integrations with healthcare providers such as laboratories and doctors
4. Continuously monitoring and improving application performance, scalability, and security
5. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in application development and AI, and sharing knowledge with the team
6. Updating and maintaining our user-facing onboarding portal
7. Collaborating closely with other developers, the Head of Engineering, our Senior Product Manager, Designer, Genetic Counselors, and Growth team to deliver high-quality products in a timely fashion
8. Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
Requirements
1. At least 5 years of experience in web application development, with a focus on modern Laravel PHP development
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
3. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
4. You are motivated and thrive when given autonomy to execute

Nice to Have :
1. Familiarity with React, GraphQL and Tailwind is helpful but not essential
2. Experience with serverless architectures, AWS Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation will help you get up to speed fast. If you've worked in a DevOps role or have a specific interest in that space, even better

Our hiring process is intentionally designed to be simple, effective, and respectful of everyone's time. The process begins with a phone interview to get to know the candidate and their skills better. After that, candidates will be given a code challenge to complete. Finally, candidates who successfully complete the code challenge will be invited to a technical interview to discuss their experience and skills in more detail.
