About the role: We’re looking for motivated and skilled Supervisors to join our government-based construction, building and maintenance department on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that maintains and delivers essential building and maintenance services across Queensland. You’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the state’s schools, hospitals, housing, and government facilities. Provide a level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild including, assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors. Possess a good understanding of Procurement frameworks, effective communication skills, enable to provide and receive clear and direct instructions. Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high-quality scoping services for QBuild’s clients including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing. Maintain a healthy and safe work environment by ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety. The Client Our client is the Queensland Government’s building and asset services team, operating under the Department of Energy and Public Works.
