As our business continues to expand, it is seeking a Fleet Manager to join its team and oversee the management, maintenance, and optimisation of its transport fleet
What you'll be doing
Oversee the acquisition and routine servicing of transport vehicles, equipment, and fuel supplies to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
Implement maintenance schedules and systems to reduce vehicle downtime and extend asset life.
Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to manage warranties, inspections, and repairs.
Liaise with management and clients to understand transportation requirements and provide expert advice on vehicle types, rates, and service terms.
Manage client expectations by ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and prompt resolution of issues or complaints.
Maintain a strong client focus to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term business relationships.
Receive and manage bookings and delivery orders, creating transport schedules that maximise efficiency and meet customer timelines.
Allocate vehicles and drivers appropriately, ensuring effective utilisation of fleet resources.
Monitor transport activities to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while managing unforeseen delays.
Maintain accurate records related to fleet usage, fuel consumption, service logs, and transportation costs.
Prepare regular operational and performance reports for internal review and strategic planning.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements across all fleet operations.
Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial targets are achieved.
Lead, supervise, and support drivers and transport staff to ensure high levels of performance and safety.
Provide training and ongoing support to promote professional growth and operational consistency.
Comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across all vehicles and address potential hazards promptly.
What business is looking for
Diploma or higher in relevant study. Alternatively, 3 years of experience can be used to substitute formal qualification.
