Salary Range: $68,098 - $69,884 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.
About The Role
This role contributes to the success of the City by delivering an efficient, safe and reliable rubbish and recycling collection service for our community. As a Waste Driver Side Loader Collections/Labourer, you'll play a key role in operating collection vehicles, supporting waste operations, and ensuring our city remains clean, sustainable and welcoming.
Role Accountabilities
* Ensuring mobile garbage and recycling bins are emptied correctly and returned to designated areas, including cleaning up any spillage.
* Operating and maintaining side and rear-loading compaction vehicles and other relevant plant and equipment in accordance with manuals and WHS procedures.
* Working collaboratively with team members to support efficient Waste Operations.
* Providing high‐quality customer service to residents and the broader community.
* Communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors and the public.
* Performing all duties safely, efficiently and in line with environmentally sustainable practices.
* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to team cohesion.
About You
You are someone who takes pride in helping keep the city clean and functioning well. You enjoy hands‐on work, being outdoors, and contributing to a team that delivers essential community services. You can work autonomously, follow schedules and instructions, and communicate respectfully with the public.
You Will Bring
* Experience operating medium mobile plant, including side and rear‐loader vehicles.
* The ability to read and follow maps, run sheets, rosters and daily work programs.
* Good communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
* Reliability, accountability and the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes.
* Availability to work rostered and un‐rostered weekends and public holidays.
Mandatory Requirements
* Completion of Year 10 or Certificate III in Waste Management/Asset Maintenance (or willingness to complete within 12 months).
* Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence.
* National Police Check, Pre‐employment Medical Assessment (High Risk) and current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
