B2B Product Sales & Marketing Executive / BDM

  • Industrial Products / Electrical / Automation / Technical Sales
  • Illawarra / Greater Sydney base (Hybrid WFH and in the office)
  • NSW initial focus, growing across Australia and New Zealand

This is a growth role for a practical B2B product sales professional with a genuine interest in quality industrial products, engineering, and ideally some knowledge of electrical fundamentals. You do not need to be a design engineer but you do need to be tuned into the delivery process so that you know how to best showcase products.

You do need to be curious, commercially sharp, and comfortable learning technical products so you can speak credibly with:

  • customers, distributors, technical buyers
  • procurement teams, production contacts
  • service partners, and decision makers
  • trade show attendees and industry networks

Prior exposure to industrial products, electrical products, automation, HVAC/R, OEM supply, distribution, engineered components, or related technical B2B markets would be helpful, but it does not need to be a perfect match.

The clincher is practical:

  • someone who wants to understand how products work
  • how customers use them
  • and how to turn that understanding into account growth, new opportunities, and long-term customer relationships

This is likely to suit a product sales / BDM profile more than someone from a purely software, SaaS, or digital-only sales background, unless they can show a genuine interest in physical industrial products and technical customer environments.

The role

You will work across a blend of account management and new business development.

There are established accounts and distributor relationships to manage, support, and develop. There are also new product portfolios to showcase to past, present, and future customers.

The early focus will be NSW, with the territory developing across Australia and New Zealand over time.

The work will include customer discovery, distributor and channel development, trade event follow-up, account growth, new customer development, product positioning, opportunity qualification, proposals, and converting technical conversations into commercial outcomes.

This is not a purely desk-based sales support role. It will suit someone who wants to get out into the market:

  • meet customers
  • build relationships
  • understand applications
  • and help grow a broad industrial product platform.

The right person is likely to have:

  • B2B product sales, account management, business development, or technical sales experience.
  • A genuine interest in industrial products, electrical fundamentals, engineering, automation, components, or physical technical products.
  • The confidence to manage existing customers and develop new relationships.
  • The discipline to follow up properly after customer meetings, distributor conversations, trade shows, expos, and inbound opportunities.
  • The ability to speak with distributors, technical buyers, procurement contacts, operational stakeholders, and decision makers.
  • Commercial drive, practical curiosity, and the ability to learn product detail.
  • Current Australian work rights.
  • Current driver's licence.

This could suit someone with relevant local B2B product sales experience who wants a larger territory, stronger backing, and more room to grow in a global firm. It could also suit a developing BDM or account manager with the right technical curiosity and appetite to build across NSW, Australia, and New Zealand.

Indicative starting package:

First-year OTE: circa $150,000 - $160,000, subject to final structure and performance

Target base salary is circa $80,000 - $110,000 plus superannuation PLUS car or car allowance PLUS bonus
