Position Information
Springwood High School is a comprehensive high school located in Faulconbridge in the mid-Blue Mountains, situated on Dharug land. The school has an enrolment of approximately 563 students, with 8% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 5% EAL/D. Our deep commitment to explicit teaching, ensure students receive high-quality instruction that drives strong learning growth which enables every student to reach their full potential. As part of the HPGE Partner Schools Program, Springwood High school will benefit from upgraded facilities designed to broaden learning opportunities and enhance the delivery of tailored HPGE initiatives. Specific Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage an English faculty maintaining a visible and supportive leadership presence that enhances teaching practice and student achievement.
- Proven ability to lead the planning and programmingof the English syllabus, catering for the diverse learning needs of all students, including high potential and gifted learners.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to foster positive relationships with staff, students and families.
- Demonstrated ability to actively contribute as a member of the school executive, leading and supporting the school’s strategic directions and driving evidence-informed literacy improvement initiatives across the school.
General Selection Criteria
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
