Mott MacDonald is a vibrant and forward-thinking engineering, management and development consultancy. Located in Melbourne, our Buildings Services team seeks a Principal or Senior Hydraulic and Fire Services Engineer based in Docklands, VIC.
Job Summary
You'll design and deliver building hydraulic and fire services systems for major building projects, including the National Gallery of Victoria, contemporary and Defence projects. The role covers conceptual design through to construction completion and offers opportunities for technical development and client-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic and fire service systems for new building projects.

• Prepare calculations, concept sketches, reports, detailed designs, specifications and drawings.

• Ensure compliance with NCC, Victorian Building Code, and Australian Standards for water services, sanitary, roof drainage, fire hydrant, hose reel and sprinkler systems.

• Work with a multidisciplinary engineering team and liaise with clients to meet expectations from concept to completion.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary engineering qualifications.
5+ years of experience demonstrated through roles at quality engineering consultants.
Registered & endorsed as a Professional Engineer (Vic) under the Victorian engineering registration scheme (or eligibility to obtain).
Experience delivering a range of project types, and strong technical knowledge of the NCC and Victorian building code framework.
Experience applying Australian Standards across a range of systems, including water services, sanitary and roof drainage, fire hydrant, fire hose reel, and fire sprinkler systems.
Knowledge and experience in the design of fire detection and alarm systems (considered favourably).
Strong communication skills; able to work as a standout colleague and self-motivated.
Experienced in the preparation of calculations, concept sketches, reports, detailed designs including specifications and drawings.
Confirmation of Australian Citizenship.

The role is full-time, permanent, located in Docklands, VIC. Salary range: A$*****–A$***** for the equivalent hourly rate.
