This is a Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term Full Time appointment at 80 hrs per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team at Burringurrah Nursing post – Midwest.
To Be Successful, You Will Have

* extensive clinical experience including assessment skills, emergency management skills, clinical problem solving and understanding of chronic disease management.
* knowledge and application of primary health care principles and programs.
* ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including problem solving and negotiation skills.
* understanding and commitment to cultural safety and Indigenous health issues.
* knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
Position Profile: Responsible for the provision and coordination of primary health care to the Burringurrah community. Includes the provision of Nursing Services encompassing emergency care, chronic disease management, child health, immunisation, health promotion, and education.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Please refer to the (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program) website for eligibility criteria.
Area Profile
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
