LDK Seniors' Living's flagship village Greenway Views is located in Tuggeranong opposite the South Point shopping center. The village consists of 327 apartments, spread over five buildings and is home to nearly 400 residents over the age of 65. The village has over 6,000 square metres of communal space facilitating social connectedness. LDK delivers lifestyle-for-life through a variety of facilities, amenities and activities for both independent and non-independent residents. About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Kitchen Hand at Greenway Views plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment. This includes adhering to government and LDK food safety standards, managing the kitchen cleaning schedule, washing cookware and crockery, sanitising equipment and surfaces, maintaining cool rooms and floors, and ensuring appropriate waste disposal.
Role Responsibilities:
* Clean all kitchen surfaces, mop, and sweep kitchen floors, put away dishes, pots and pans, organisefood, clean out freezers, and remove trash.
* Ensure all dishes are adequately sanitized by maintaining required water temperature and chemicallevels. Other tasks including polishing silverware, doing chemical dips when applicable, and dry andput dishes away.
* Assist Chefs by completing food preparation tasks. This can include everything from organising therefrigerator and freezer to chopping vegetables, washing fruit, defrosting meat, and preparing saucesand marinades. Preparation of dishes that require little to no cooking, such as salads.
* Ensure appliances and cooking equipment are properly used and maintained, take inventory ofsupplies and food, ensuring that the kitchen has accurate and adequate stock of consumables.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* One year of experience working in a similar role and/or environment
* Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and chemical handling (or willingness to learn)
* A proactive and positive attitude
* Ability to work independently
* Food Safety Certificate (highly regarded but not essential)
