About The Role
Are you passionate about the presenting high quality Sporting venues? Do you take pride in presenting friendly all use parks and reserves for play? Do you have strong leadership skills and experience in Irrigation? The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is looking for a Leading Hand Irrigation to join our dynamic Operations team and show the pride we have in the community?

As the Leading Hand Irrigation, you will play a key role in the maintenance, operation, and management of our Sporting Ovals and Parks Assets, for multiple discipline sporting pursuits. You'll be responsible for overseeing a high performing crew in daily operations, working with other City teams ensuring our play space is presented for all our community.

Duties
Key Responsibilities Include

* Ensure all Work, Health, Environment and Safety Regulations are met.
* Regular safety field audits are recorded and undertaken.
* Perform responsibilities in accordance with job procedures and policies.
* Complete assigned work tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner that achieves expected outcomes to the City or Australian Standards whichever is greater.
* Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of staff and casual workers, providing upskilling, knowledge and support to maintain an efficient, safe working environment.
* Ongoing review of opportunity for increased efficiency and effectiveness across the irrigation and pumping systems.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works undertaken comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe environment for Staff and the General Public.

Who We Are Looking For

* To be considered for this position, you will need:
* Extensive knowledge in Irrigation and or Pumping systems
* Certificate III in Irrigation Technology AHC32422 (Desirable)
* Leadership qualities.
* Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, ensure quality control of own work and the work of others.
* High level communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution skills, and interpersonal skills including ability to liaise effectively and confidently with internal and external customers.
* Strong team player and mentor with excellent leadership skills including proven ability to work autonomously with initiative, forward thinking and capacity to solve problems and make decisions.
* Solid understanding of asset management, WHS, and risk frameworks
* Proven leadership skills and experience managing field-based teams
* Current Construction Safety Awareness induction card ('blue' or 'white' card).
* Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
* Current WA "C" (required) and "HR" (desirable) class driver's licence.
* Current satisfactory National Police Clearance.
* Full working rights to gain employment within Australia
