The Company The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA) is the peak national body representing the Australian cattle feedlot industry – an industry in growth that produces high quality grain fed beef for the domestic and international marketplace. The Role The role of General Manager – Communications & Stakeholder Engagement is a key senior position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with a highly skilled team of 4 direct reports including Professional Development Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Training & Education Manager, Administration Coordinator.
A dynamic, exciting and challenging environment, you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining strong membership value and engagement
* Overseeing management for industry engagement events
* Corporate communications
* Program management
* Develop and oversee relevant and current training material, workshops and e-learning initiatives
* Community and stakeholder engagement
The Person
We are very interested to speak to you if you believe you have the following:
* Effective people leadership skills and experience
* Credibility/networks in the Australian livestock or agribusiness sector
* Communications and event management experience
* Commercial acumen in the delivery of member services, training and events
* Proven industry and stakeholder engagement skills
* The ability to understand, relate to, and connect with a broad range of industry entities
* Exemplary organisational and planning skills
* Advanced skills in administration, deadline management, prioritisation, adaptability and situational awareness
* Some travel required
Ideally, you will have a passion for agriculture or indeed a background in agriculture and come with a solid reputation of exceptional communication and engagement and a keen desire to make a difference. This role will be ideally based in ALFA’s head office in Sydney.
