Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.
The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, non-judgmental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.
Step into a role where your clinical expertise genuinely changes lives. This is an opportunity to join the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service in a position that plays a pivotal part in supporting people navigating the MERIT and Drug Court programs. If you’re driven by evidence‑based practice, committed to collaborative care, and ready for a role with real impact, this is a chance to bring your skills to a team that values professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.
The role centres on delivering evidence‑based drug and alcohol assessments, case management, and counselling to patients engaged with the MERIT and Drug Court pathways. You will prepare detailed court reports, progress updates, case assessments, and other essential documentation that informs judicial and clinical decision‑making. Building strong, cooperative relationships with partner agencies, committees, internal departments, and the broader Criminal Justice System is a key part of the work, ensuring continuity of care and coordinated support for every patient.
A critical component of the role is recognising and escalating significant risk factors or deterioration in a patient’s health or functioning and contributing to the development and implementation of appropriate management plans that prioritise safety and recovery. If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a role where your work truly matters, apply now and help shape better outcomes for individuals, families, and the community.
