Join Our Garden Family Medical Clinic Team in Murdoch or Piara Waters
We're seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our compassionate healthcare community.
We currently have a rare opportunity across both clinic locations.
The Garden Family Medical Clinic is built on the values of teamwork, excellence, and a patient-centred approach in a modern, non-clinical setting.
This role will include clinical work in a General Practice setting, as well as women's health, alongside various opportunities to learn and enhance your skills in areas of interest.
The role is so varied that no two days are the same
Whether it be patient-facing or as part of our unique triage model known as the patient care centre.
Opportunities to expand into roles such as supporting our child and adolescent health clinics, home health assessments, chronic disease management, a peanut anaphylaxis desensitisation program and the pelvic pain clinic.
Our clinic also performs procedures such as iron infusions, Mirena and Implanon insertions, skin excisions, and management of neurodiversity conditions (including ADHD and Autism), as well as care planning, immunisations and regular patient contact across all age groups.
We are an innovative, award-winning, busy, and modern GP clinic, and we enjoy working collaboratively and supporting one another to grow in our roles.
We host regular educational events and offer upskilling opportunities to enhance our patient care and stay current.
Qualifications & experience
Registered Nurse with an interest or experience in primary healthcare (GP nursing)
Flexibility with hours to cover annual and sick leave as well as sharing the school holiday roster (essential)
Immunisation training
Working with children/police clearance
Availability to do a rotating Saturday morning shift, and occasional evening work (until 7 pm) Monday to Thursday
Best practice software experience preferred but not essential (training can be provided)
Tasks & responsibilities
Patient care and support - clinical activities and building relationships with patients that support continuity of care
Organisational aspects of patient care (e.g. patient recall and reminder systems, referrals to community services, and undertaking patient health assessments)
Developing systems and protocols for patient care (e.g. triaging patients, maintaining treatment room stock, managing contaminated waste, recording and documenting patient measurements, infection control, the safe disposal of sharps, and contributing to practice accreditation)
Being adaptable to busy shifts and having the initiative to perform routine tasks or catch up on ordering when quieter
Wound care and recognising abnormal or complicated wounds during follow-up reviews
Chronic disease management - asthma management and spirometry, care planning, connecting to local allied health professionals, diabetes education and support, mental health support
Roles may be available within the pelvic pain clinic, as a triage nurse or support role in educating patients who suffer from chronic pelvic pain or endometriosis
Roles within the child health clinic - including our extended care consultations and rapid kids clinics.
These roles are diverse and will include on-the-job training and support, along with upskilling over time in areas of interest
General Child health - immunisations, preventative care, developmental and mental health support and care with collaboration with doctors and psychologists
Routine immunisations across the lifespan, including flu, COVID-19 and travel immunisations
Assisting GPs with procedures - Implanon insertion and removal, Mirena insertion, skin excision, wedge resection, iron infusions, skin biopsy, suturing wounds and lacerations and emergencies
