Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based in Taree.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to meet the changing needs of the organisation, ensuring our finance and payroll systems are adequate to support the development and improvement of reporting requirements, as well as providing hands-on technical support. You will also oversee the management of the Finance and Payroll teams, providing guidance and support where necessary.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Finance, systems and compliance oversight
- Leading and managing a team of staff
- Designing and delivering innovative, client-oriented services and support
- Exploring opportunities for further growth in line with strategic directions
- Ensuring effective resource allocation and delivery of annual budgets and reports
Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (degree in accounting or related degree with major in accounting, accredited by IPA, CPA or CA Australia, CIMA or ACCA)
- A high level of competence in Microsoft applications (particularly Excel) and MYOB
- A demonstrated ability to communicate confidently and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- A strong financial acumen, with a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated management experience, and the ability to lead, train and support staff
- Able to lead change, and introduce and implement continuous quality improvement in finance and accounting processes and systems
- Have a professional work ethic with a mission-based mindset
- Current NSW driver’s license and NSW registered vehicle
Desirable Qualifications and Requirements:
- An understanding of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and other relevant awards
- Experience with Sage financial management software
