Primary objective
The Ministerial Liaison Officer provides Ministerial liaison, agency wide coordination and secretariat services to the
Department of Logistics and Infrastructure and Minister's Office.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Receive, record and process ministerial correspondence between the Department and Minister's Office in a timely and
accurate manner.
1. Advise on and maintain correct ministerial and departmental practices and procedures in accordance with approved
guidelines and standards.
1. Assist in finalising ministerial correspondence to a high standard checking grammar, spelling and adherence to protocol
and formatting requirements.
1. Update and maintain the Ministerial TRM database in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Assist in monitoring the Secretariat generic email account and ensure emails are acted on promptly.
3. Assist in monitoring and review of Secretariat intranet content for consistency and updates.
4. Assist in the coordination of the Department's Legislative Assembly briefs and other requirements of the Chief Executive
as required.
1. Provide support to the Manager, Secretariat and Secretariat team members.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in Ministerial and Parliamentary processes or the proven ability to acquire such skills quickly.
2. Attention to detail with the ability to proof and edit Ministerial and high-level documents and correspondence.
1. Well-developed interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills and the ability to negotiate outcomes
with people at all levels.
1. Developed time management and organisation skills.
2. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, be highly motivated and an ability to take initiative, be flexible and
maintain confidentiality.
1. Proven ability to be able to work with minimal supervision to achieve outcomes within tight timeframes.
2. Proven experience in word processing, database and records management and email systems.
