Are you passionate about cultural heritage and land management? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a dedicated Land & Cultural Heritage Officer to support property dealings and heritage matters across our vibrant region. Candidates with backgrounds in legal practice, conveyancing, planning, paralegal work, or community engagement are encouraged to apply.

About This Opportunity

* Provide expert advice on leasing, licensing, property, and cultural heritage matters, applying string critical thinking and negotiation skills.
* Engage with Traditional Owners, community groups, and internal stakeholders, demonstrating a strong customer focus and ability to handle conflict professionally.
* Investigate and resolve land management issues including encroachments and fencing, drawing on experience from legal, conveyancing, planning, or paralegal roles.
* Facilitate tenancy processes and ensure lease compliance.
* Prepare reports, assessments, and documentation related to cultural heritage and land tenure.
* Contribute to policy and procedure development in relation to heritage and land matters.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

* Relevant degree or diploma in Cultural Heritage Management, Business, Law, Planning of related field.
* Experience in property document management, stakeholder engagement or community consultation.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability in negotiation and conflict resolution.
* Working knowledge of cultural heritage legislation and land tenure systems.
* QLD "C" Class Driver's Licence (or interstate equivalent).
