**About the Opportunity**
This is a rare opportunity to join the SSN AUKUS Build Program as an **Export Controls Officer**, supporting the establishment of the Australian Shipbuilder joint venture between ASC and BAE Systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with export control laws, managing controlled technology risks, and enabling strategic business and project outcomes in a highly regulated environment.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with export control regulations; manage export licenses and agreements.
- Monitor regulatory changes and report on compliance status.
- Develop and deliver export control training programs to raise awareness.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice and ensure compliance.
- Please note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal working hours (UK timezone) is required. Periodic domestic and international travel may also be required on an ad hoc basis._
**About You**
- Minimum 3 years' experience in managing domestic and foreign export control laws or similar compliance roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work autonomously and influence across the business.
- Commercial acumen and strategic problem-solving capability.
- Eligible for NV1 Defence Security Clearance and full access to Controlled Technology.
- Desirable:_
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or discipline.
- Experience within the Defence industry.
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
