About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale, 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an access point for Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield) with services including emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis, medical and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, aged care and community services.
We operate four residential aged care homes in Sale, Maffra and Heyfield, delivering person-centred care in supportive environments. CGH provides a range of community-based services and has an integrated model of care supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team.
We also provide public dental services. CGH is a teaching hospital affiliated with Monash University’s School of Rural Health.

About Department
The Learning Services Department of CGH is based in Sale and services all CGH sites in a clinical and non-clinical capacity. It is a collaborative team of educators and administrators who facilitate the CGH education framework and assist staff in gaining access to education materials for personal and professional growth.
About the Role
The Workplace Trainer/Careers Advisor will provide training and assessment activities, including designing learning programs, using training packages and accredited courses, planning and delivering group and individual learning, facilitating learning in the workplace, and managing assessment processes.
The role delivers training and assessment services for CGH, teaching competencies from Certificate II to Diploma level. The position also advises participants on possible career pathways and training opportunities.
Duties
- Creating, implementing and managing assessment activities and processes.
- Coordinate and deliver work-based learning using best practice delivery modes.
- Liaise with external training providers to deliver appropriate courses to participating employees.
- Support individual employees to pursue development and manage their careers, including career changes within CGH.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent, or ability to acquire within the role.
- Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed.
- Relevant current industry experience.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
