Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join our team of dedicated staff and happy students We are in the process of timetabling for the remainder of 2025 – subjects can be adjusted to suit the right applicant.

Selection Criteria

* SC1 – Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills, and experience in responding to student learning needs.
* SC2 – Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating impact on student growth.
* SC3 – Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback to students and parents.
* SC4 – Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the community.
* SC5 – Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning.


Role

The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills. Experienced teachers may undertake additional duties beyond rostered teaching, appropriate to salary range, qualifications, training and experience.


Range 2 (optional)

* Assist the school in improving student performance and outcomes, supporting the strategic plan and state‑wide priorities.
* Contribute to policy and priority implementation.
* Provide content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet diverse needs.
* Model exemplary practice, mentor/coach other teachers, support staff to expand capacity.
* Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies for professional learning.
* Supervise and train student teachers.
* Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.


Range 1 (optional)

* Further develop skills to become an effective practitioner under guidance of higher‑level teachers.
* Plan and teach multiple subjects/classes, accountable for effective delivery.
* Participate in policy development and implementation of school priorities.
* Focus on classroom management, subject content and teaching practice.
* Support new entrants through induction and professional learning.
* Assist and participate in policy development, project teams and co‑curricular activities.


Responsibilities

* Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
* Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curricula.
* Undertake other classroom teaching–related and organisational duties determined by the Principal.
* Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, excursions.
* Undertake non‑teaching supervisory duties.


Who May Apply

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s).

Qualification Requirements

* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course after 1 January 2024, must demonstrate completion of an accredited program.
* If graduated from a Victorian ITE program after 1 July 2016, must have passed LANTITE requirements.
