About the role We are seeking experienced parts interpreters to join a large and highly successful parts team; all backgrounds considered, if you have light vehicle, plant or heavy equipment parts experience and are considering a move into the commercial vehicle industry, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Accurately identify and interpret part numbers, descriptions, and specifications for trucks and other commercial vehicles Provide technical support and advice to workshop staff, sales teams, and customers regarding parts compatibility and alternatives. Maintain and update parts databases, catalogs, and inventory records. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source parts and obtain pricing or availability information. Assist in ordering and tracking parts to ensure timely delivery. Support service and maintenance teams with technical documentation, exploded diagrams, and wiring/parts schematics. May occasionally assist in stock management or light warehousing duties. Help troubleshoot vehicle or equipment issues by identifying required replacement parts. Requirements / Skills Certificate III in Automotive, Heavy Vehicle, or Mechanical/Parts discipline preferred but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of vehicle parts, assemblies, and mechanical components (heavy, light, or plant). Familiarity with parts catalogues, OEM systems, and inventory management software. Good numeracy and attention to detail for interpreting part numbers and technical specs. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with technicians, suppliers, and customers. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics. Organised, methodical, and able to prioritise tasks under pressure. Previous workshop, parts, or mechanical experience is highly desirable.
