About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Manager to join the Senior Management Team, directly reporting to the Directors. This is a hands‐on leadership role where you will work closely with the production managers, lead a team of 3 members, develop and implement quality strategies, drive quality improvement projects and ensure optimum product quality at all times.
In this pivotal role you will
* provide leadership in all aspects of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance,
* drive the quality culture across the business,
* collaborate with the production & support teams to ensure we consistently meet customer expectations,
* create a clear and concise quality strategy, highlighting areas for improvement and priorities.
* influence quality results across the entire product life cycle (from new product development to supplier management, all the way to finished goods delivery),
* partner with stakeholders to rectify non-compliances to policies and regulations,
* actively manage the Food Safety, GMP and overall Quality Management System,
* ensure accurate record keeping, traceability and compliance,
* investigate complaints and facilitate corrective & preventative actions,
* manage the internal and external audit program,
* mentor a small team of Quality professionals,
* and proactively support continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You will have previous experience in Quality Management in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy, with a history of audit compliance essential. Applicants should have the following attributes, qualifications and experience:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3–5 years of Quality Management experience in food manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of management systems and compliance obligations.
Proven experience with team engagement, cultural change and process improvement.
Highly effective communication and problem‐solving skills.
Extensive Quality and Food Safety system development and implementation experience.
Technical experience with new product development and change management processes.
Lead auditor experience in planning and conducting both internal and external audits in accordance with relevant quality standards.
A minimum of 1–2 years of lead auditor experience is required for this position.
Ensure compliance with regulations in accordance with HACCP, SQF, WQA, CFIA, HALAL and SMETA requirements.
Sound computer skills and the ability to convert data into clear, user‐friendly information.
Ensure that the Quality Management System conforms to the requirements of FSANZ and DFSV regulatory standards.
A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Quality Management or a related field is preferred.
