We’re looking for a
Senior Structural Engineer
to join our
Western Australia
team working across the residential engineering space.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the delivery of timely, high‑quality solutions in residential housing, including projects such as single‑storey, double‑storey, and triple‑storey residential dwellings, Class 2 apartments, and warehouses.
Producing and reviewing designs, including site plans, drainage plans, and other associated documentation.
Reviewing and providing guidance on peers’ engineering reports and documentation to ensure quality control and support skill development.
Managing client interactions, including setting meeting agendas, capturing minutes, and monitoring orders and feedback on a regular basis.
Attending site meetings with stakeholders, including builders, homeowners, and contractors, as required.
Maintaining proactive and effective communication with all stakeholders, including engineers, Intrax staff, builders, and local councils.
Ensuring quality assurance of work completed by junior engineers and providing mentoring and training.
Attending sites for compliance checks.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in residential engineering design.
A minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
Experience in the design of residential and low‑rise structural buildings, including Class 2 dwellings.
Experience in the design of reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel structures, as well as composite flooring systems, retaining walls, and timber floor, roof, and wall framing.
Proficiency in using engineering design software tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), and RAPT (advantageous).
A sound understanding of OH&S; requirements and site attendance protocols.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and project stakeholders.
The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced service environment with excellent consulting, time management, and organisational skills.
Advanced ability to interpret Australian Standards and Building Codes and to design in accordance with AS2870, AS1684, AS4773, AS3700, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, the NCC, etc.
