Supported Independent Living - Youth Support Worker (SIL) Full-Time
We are looking for a committed individual to join us as a Supported Independent Living (SIL) Youth Support Worker on a permanent full-time basis. The organisation has grown to operate across multiple regions and provides wrap around services in youth and disability support, clinical support, homelessness support, court support, outreach and intervention, education, NDIS and foster care.
About the SIL Program T-SIL is designed for young people aged 16 years and older to attain their own residence and develop skills for independent living, including budgeting, maintaining amenities, and accessing education and employment opportunities. The program helps transition participants from the Permanency Support Program (PSP) to SIL, and supports them in finding long-term accommodation in partnership with Rent Choice Youth, House Accord, the Department of Housing, or the private rental market.
Role Overview As a Youth Support Worker in TSIL, duties vary and may include attending appointments, assisting the young person to maintain their home, and supporting access to the community. TSIL placements do not have a fixed office, and shift notes are documented or emailed after shifts. Communication with the caseworker is essential to ensure shift objectives are understood prior to the shift. The SIL Youth Worker is required to be available Monday to Friday, with some weekend work based on client needs.

Essential Criteria
- 3 years’ experience working with young people in an ITC and NDIS environment
- Completed Diploma of Community Services or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in management and leadership of employees
- Demonstrated autonomy when supporting multiple clients
- Knowledge of Needs Based Framework, TCI concepts and strategies
- Strong knowledge of Allambi Care policies and procedures
- High level written, communication and time management skills
- Ability to work full time Monday to Friday, with flexibility to up to 10 hours of weekend work based on client needs

- Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; HLTAID003)

- Drivers Licence
- Comprehensively insured vehicle
