Are you a recent planning graduate (within the past 12 months) or a final‐year university student ready to start your career? The Hills Shire Council is a diverse and dynamic area extending from Baulkham Hills to Wisemans Ferry, with a population forecast to grow from 224,000 to 330,000 residents by 2041. We have a mix of high‐density centres, leafy suburbs, new communities, rural land and bushland, making this a great place to learn and build your planning skills.

What this role looks like
With training, support and mentoring, you will be involved in a range of planning activities, including:
* Assisting with rezoning proposals, Development Control Plans (DCPs) and planning agreements.
* Supporting the preparation of precinct plans and studies for future growth areas.
* Helping identify infrastructure needed to support development.
* Responding to planning enquiries and providing customer service to the community.
* Assisting with the review of local planning policies and controls.
* Learning how State and Federal planning policies affect local planning.
What are we seeking in our new team member
* Tertiary Qualification (or near completion) in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* A NSW Class C Driver Licence.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines and work as part of a team.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
