**Your new Opportunity at Nine.**
We have a fabulous opportunity that has become available for an aspiring technical Video News Editor to join out News Media team at Nine. Under the daily guidance of the News Editor Supervisor this role delivers edited video content for broadcast in news bulletins and current affairs programs across the Nine Network. The key to this role is speed, accuracy, creativity and consistency of quality. Using the AVID Media Composer and Cloud UX editing platforms, the News Editor is able to craft and deliver a professional product from a wide variety of sources.
**Your Key Accountabilities will include**:
- Editing material for broadcast on Nine News, including voice overs, grabs, overlay and news packages as directed by the News Edit Shift Leader. 
- Occasional editing of feature style packages across a range of news and current affairs program 
- styles and also including online content. 
- Calm, concise, creative and accurate completion of required editing to a high technical standard within strict deadlines. 
- Collaborative team player who is also self-motivated and can work autonomously. 
- Build internal news department relationships to maximize quality of output, communication and workflows. 
- Be available to work a 24/7 roster, including early starts and late finishes. 
- Compiling vision for archive and ensuring edited material is delivered correctly and on time. 
- Ensure escalation of potential problems and technical issues are reported to management and/or engineering in a timely manner. 
- Demonstrates a positive and professional communication style, shares information in a clear, timely and consistent manner. 
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
- Supports and participates in a team environment, follows company policies and procedures and supports and participates in a safe workplace culture.

In order to succeed, you will ideally have the following qualities, skills and experience: 
**Essential** 
- Qualifications in media production and or communications. 
- Knowledge of AVID Media Composer editing software, or equivalent. 
- Good technical knowledge of media file formats and compression codecs. 
- Excellent attitude and a desire to build a career in television broadcast. 
- A dedicated, professional, positive, flexible and proactive "can do" attitude
**Desirable** 
- Experience in a live television broadcast environment. 
- Experience with computer networking and file based delivery systems. 
- A keen interest in news, sport and current affairs.
