Shelter Support Worker
This posting is an exciting opportunity for a Shelter Support Worker to join our team.
The Shelter Support Worker will work directly with clients to identify their problems, needs and risks. They will develop and implement short-term, issue specific intervention plans within program guidelines. The Shelter Support Worker will gather information relevant to the client's problems, needs and risks by interviewing, observing behavior, meeting with any other service providers, and using a variety of inventories, checklists, and questionnaires.
Responsibilities include:
* Plan, prepare, and conducts basic individual counselling session using techniques such as active listening, conflict resolution, basic psycho-educational group methods to resolve identified problems, needs and risks.
* Maintain an active file for each assigned resident. This includes electronic log notes for all pertinent interactions and observation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity. They will also possess a high level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
Compensation: $27.54 to $31.61 per hour. Benefits include vacation pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Schedule: Full time, three 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), Sun/Mon/Tue DAYS (7am to 7pm)
