Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling, comprising CPB Contractors, Ghella, and Acciona Construction. Together, we are delivering the southern section of tunnels for Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East – 16km of twin tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, which will be Victoria's longest transport tunnel. This project is being delivered on behalf of the Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
SRL East, spanning from Cheltenham to Box Hill, is now being constructed. Tunnelling is set to commence in 2026, with trains expected to begin running by 2035. The works include 55 cross passages, two tunnel portal structures, two station box excavations, and various associated support tasks.

About The Opportunity
Provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
* Work in accordance and demonstrate commitment to the Project's Culture & Values.
* Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and Suburban Connect's Risk Management process.
* Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager.
* Input information and undertake minor design on site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction.
* Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
* Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
* Maintain drawing register controls for the project.
* Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets.
* Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager.
* Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
* Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
* Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
* Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
We Are Looking For Someone With
* A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
* Minimum 3 years' engineering experience.
* Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area.
